“We know how this will all end, but we will not make any public statements about it. We will simply implement and strive for the goals we have set for ourselves and accomplish the tasks that lie ahead,” Putin said during a meeting with the leaders of Russian municipalities.
He added that the Russian army is gradually establishing a security zone on the border with Ukraine, and that this process will continue until the threat to the border regions is completely removed. He particularly pointed out that the situation in the Kursk region is still difficult.
“Today we understand that the most important thing is to be together. That only through our unity will we achieve the goals of the special military operation,” Putin said at the All-Russian Prize for Municipal Services award ceremony.
Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov previously announced that the Russian army has fully taken control of the territory of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic and is continuing the offensive in all directions. He stated that since the beginning of the year, Russian forces have occupied more than 1,700 square kilometers of territory and 80 settlements.
The Kremlin said earlier that Russia wants the conflict in Ukraine to end as soon as possible, but only after it achieves the goals it set from the beginning.
