Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law prohibiting the execution of judgments in Russia by foreign criminal and international courts. The corresponding document is published on the website of official legal acts.
The law establishes that the decisions of foreign courts, to which other countries have given powers in the field of criminal proceedings without the participation of Russia, as well as of international judicial bodies whose jurisdiction is not based on an international treaty of the Russian Federation or a resolution of the UN Security Council adopted within the framework of the exercise of powers provided for in Chapter VII of the UN Charter, are not subject to enforcement in Russia.
