“The president has already congratulated Trump on Christmas and sent him a telegram,” Peskov told reporters, RIA Novosti reports.
Peskov said that the telephone conversation between Putin and Trump is not planned for today.
“It is impossible to assume that the conversation with Trump will take place today. It will not happen today. At least it is not planned at this moment,” said Peskov.
He also pointed out that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Christmas speech was “uncivilized and bitter”, which, he said, suggests that he is a “mentally unstable person”.
“We saw a report about Zelenskiy’s truly bizarre Christmas address. It is uncultured, bitter and sounds like a somewhat unstable person,” believes Peskov, reports Tanjug.
He added that the Kremlin questions Zelensky’s ability to make adequate decisions towards a political and diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine.
In the Christmas video, Zelensky wished someone to “fail”, stating that it would be the Christmas wish of all Ukrainians, but did not specify who the wish was addressed to.
In July 2023, Zelensky signed a law stating that Christmas in Ukraine will be officially celebrated on December 25.
