Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina can already plan annual vacations and days off based on the official calendar of national and religious holidays for 2026.
The complete overview of non-working days is taken from the site neradani-dani.com and includes holidays that are traditionally celebrated in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to this calendar, the first non-working days in 2026 began already at the beginning of January. Christmas Day was celebrated on Tuesday, January 6, while Wednesday, January 7, is Christmas according to the Orthodox calendar.

In addition to the aforementioned holidays, employees in the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska have the right to a total of four working days of leave per year in order to satisfy their own religious or traditional needs. Of those, two days were paid, while two were unpaid.
Although the dates of the holidays are official, in practice the number of free working days may depend on the decisions of employers and local communities, it says Focus.
