International taekwondo competition “6th Poskok Cup 2026.” was held this Saturday in the City Sports Hall in Posušje, organized by the Poskok Taekwondo club as part of the “Posuški Lit”.
They participated in the competition competitors from 31 teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and Slovenia. The total occurred over 500 competitors in the disciplines of form, kick and sports fighting.
At the beginning of the grand opening ceremony, he addressed the audience Samir Saricpresident of the BiH Taekwondo Association for Olympic Taekwondo, emphasizing the excellent work of the Posuška club that gathers more than 200 children and the importance of local community support in their work. Mario Knezovićpresident of the Posušje Municipal Council, officially declared the Cup open with a few motivational words addressed to competitors and visitors.
The Cup was judged by judges from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, led by chief judge Branko Stanić. International judge Ivan Penava from Zagreb, who was declared the best male taekwondo judge in the world in 2025, also judged the competition. Penava also has roots in Posuja, and together with his colleagues, he made this year’s Poskok Cup on the world level.
For the Taekwondo Club of Posuš, there was a performance 121 competitors in all disciplines, and the Club was one of the most successful by winning 22 gold, 18 silver and 25 bronze medal and 10 cups for team and individual successes.
The competition lasted from morning to afternoon, and throughout the day she ruled great atmosphere filled with sportsmanship, fair play and support from the stands.
The sixth edition of the Poskok Cup once again showed how Posušje is becoming an increasingly important center of taekwondo sport in the region, gathering a large number of young athletes, coaches and clubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. The organizers point out that they are proud of the excellent atmosphere, great turnout and sportsmanship that characterized the entire event.
The general sponsor of the competition was the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, and the gold sponsor was Elektroprivreda HZHB, which together with the Municipality of Posušje, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports ŽZH and numerous sponsors enabled the organization of this competition.
