On April 7 and 8, 2026, a meeting of the Coordination of Directors of the Federal Police Administration and Police Commissioners, that is, the Directors of the Police Administrations of the Cantonal Ministries of Internal Affairs in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was held in Visoko.
The meeting was hosted by the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, and the attendees were addressed at the beginning by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the ZDK Emir Vračo, who emphasized the importance of proactive cooperation of the security sector in the Federation of BiH and beyond.
The meeting discussed the Information on the state of crime and security for January and February 2026, which included key indicators of the work of police agencies.
According to the data presented, January 2026 compared to the same period of the previous year was characterized by an increase in the number of criminal offenses by 231 (19.79 percent), violations in the area of public order and peace by 399 (25.78 percent), and traffic accidents by 343 (17.86 percent).
On the other hand, February 2026 recorded a slight decrease in the number of criminal offenses by 41 (3.10 percent), but still an increase in public order violations by 363 (25.07 percent), as well as an increase in the number of traffic accidents by 17 (0.89 percent) compared to February 2025.
The participants of the meeting also discussed other current issues related to the work of police structures, with the aim of improving the security environment in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of international organizations, including the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Council of Europe, OHR, EUFOR, UNODC, UNDP, OSCE and the Embassy of the United States of America, which further emphasized the importance of supporting the security sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
