Students of the Mostar Polytechnic Secondary School, who are training to become hairdressers and cosmetic technicians, accompanied by their mentors, traditionally visited three institutions: Center for education, training and support “Los Rosales”, Home for the elderly and infirm and Association “Sunce”.
This activity was implemented with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the educational institution and the local community, and developing empathy, humanity and social responsibility among young people.
During the visit, the students provided the users of these institutions with hairdressing and cosmetic services, while the youngest were given New Year’s packages, which brought smiles and joy to their faces.
Such activities are an example of good cooperation and a way to give attention and warmth to the most sensitive categories of society, but also enable learning for life.
Students gained valuable practical experience, developed professional skills and learned about the importance of solidarity and interpersonal connection. At the same time, trust and cooperation between the school and the social community is strengthened, confirming that education has a key role in building a more humane and empathetic society.
