“We unequivocally condemn all actions aimed at harming health or even killing or eliminating members of the leadership of sovereign and independent Iran, as well as the leadership of other countries. We condemn such actions,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters when asked about Larijani’s death.
Russia, which built and helps operate Iran’s only nuclear power plant, has sharply criticized US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, its close partner. Moscow called for a ceasefire and negotiations.

The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources, reported on Tuesday that Russia is expanding intelligence sharing and military cooperation with Tehran, providing satellite imagery and advanced drone technology to help Iran target US forces in the region.
Peskov suggested that it was fake news. “As you know, there are many different reports about this war circulating now. The vast majority are nothing more than disinformation, so we do not consider it necessary to comment on each of them,” Peskov said.
“However, the official representatives of the United States of America have made a statement on this matter, saying that they do not have any information on the subject,” the Kremlin spokesman added.
