Pakistan will continue to mediate in the peace talks between the United States and Iran, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said, according to the dpa news agency, HINA reports.
The talks, held in Islamabad with Pakistani officials acting as mediators, began on Saturday but ended without an agreement.
“Pakistan has had, and will continue to have, a role in facilitating engagement and dialogue between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America in the days to come,” Dar said in a statement.
“It is imperative that the parties continue to respect their ceasefire obligations,” he added.
“We hope that the two sides will continue in a positive spirit to achieve lasting peace and prosperity for the entire region and beyond,” he said, according to HINA.
