Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced that he intends to convince the American leader during the meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington of the need for numerous exemptions from US sanctions imposed on Russia’s energy sector.
Orban told radio station “Košut” that he will try to explain to the American leader on November 7 that Hungary needs such exemptions in order to maintain energy security.
“Hungary is a landlocked country and has no direct connection to the sea, so it is forced to rely on pipelines to obtain oil and gas,” Orban emphasized.
He pointed out that Americans should be aware of the challenges facing Hungary, TASS reported.
“We have to document it if we want to get an exemption from the American sanctions imposed on Russia,” added Orban.
