Today, 14.05.2026. year, as part of the celebration of May 15, the Police Day of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Minister of Internal Affairs Emir Vračo and Police Commissioner Admir Gazić laid flowers on the memorial erected to members of this Ministry, who died in the defense and liberation war, as well as during the performance of regular police duties and tasks.
On this occasion, in the presence of members of the families of fallen members of the Ministry, flowers were also laid by representatives of the Police Union of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Zenica-Doboj Canton, representatives of the Coordination of Basic Veteran Organizations of Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Police Detachment “Maneuver”, the Police Detachment for Special Purposes “Bosna 3”, representatives of the families of the fallen policemen Zavidovići, the Association of winners of the highest war awards of Zenica-Doboj Canton “Golden Lily” and “Golden Police Badge” and representatives of the Ministry of veterans’ issues.
During the address, Minister Emir Vračo and Police Commissioner Admir Gazić emphasized that celebrating the Police Day of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton shows due respect and preserves the memory of all members of the Ministry who gave their lives for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the defense and liberation war, as well as colleagues who selflessly gave their lives while performing complex police tasks in order to preserve a safe environment for the benefit of the entire community. Their sacrifice obliges all of us to preserve the peace, dignity and values for which they fought. The courage, professionalism and loyalty they showed remain a permanent obligation to all current and future generations of police officers.
They also emphasized that this contribution to society must never be forgotten, and that constant care must be taken of the status of their families.
After the laying of flowers, a joint lunch was organized for all present, in order to evoke memories and share memories of our members, daughters and sons in a friendly environment.
