In Gazi Husrev-bey’s library, a statement was signed condemning hate speech, Islamophobia and false narratives about Bosniaks and BiH as a response to the malicious campaign against Bosniaks and BiH.
The statement is signed by 33 representatives of the academic, political, cultural, social and religious life of Bosniaks. The statement expresses its position on the malicious campaign being waged against Bosniaks and BiH and condemns the attempt to impose a narrative about the clash of civilizations.
At a time of growing global tensions and increasingly frequent conflicts, a group of public figures, academics and representatives of civil society issued a joint statement calling for the preservation of peace and decisively rejecting the “clash of civilizations” narrative, warning of its potentially dangerous consequences.

The text of the statement emphasizes that such a discourse not only simplifies complex political and social relations, but actively contributes to the deepening of divisions between peoples and cultures. The signatories warn that insisting on that rhetoric can lead to the normalization of hostilities and further destabilize the already fragile international relations, writes Avaz.
