Due to extremely low temperatures and ice, traffic for heavy motor vehicles is currently suspended on the main road Podorašac – Bradina.
The suspension is valid until the weather conditions improve. Other road users are advised to exercise maximum caution, adjust speed and mandatory winter equipment.
Based on the data collected from the competent road services, the condition of the roads is difficult due to unfavorable winter conditions. On the highway Bosansko Grahovo-Strmica, traffic is allowed exclusively for passenger vehicles and takes place in one lane. On the road routes Trnovo – Foča (via Rogoj) and Bosansko Grahovo – Drvar, the use of chains for cargo motor vehicles is mandatory.
Low temperatures, which range up to -15°C, cause the appearance of ice and frozen pavement, and the spreading material works slowly. Snow up to 2.5 cm was recorded on some sections, especially on the routes Bosanski Petrovac-Lanište, Bosanski Petrovac-Oštrelj-Drvar and Lanište-Ključ-Vrhpolje. The roads are icy, wet or wet in places, while some sections are dry, but with fog and low temperatures.
There are still frequent reports of broken trees on the road, which occasionally causes short traffic delays. Drivers are advised to exercise maximum caution, adjust speed to road conditions, and have mandatory winter equipment, especially in mountainous areas.
On the Jablanica-Blidinje main road, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic is still suspended for vehicles over 3.5 tons.
Vehicle traffic has increased at the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Gradiška border crossing. At other border crossings, passenger vehicle traffic flows with delays of up to 30 minutes.
Due to the registration of passengers according to the new system of exiting and entering the countries of the European Union (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer delays at border crossings are possible.
The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. From December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing is open to all categories of vehicles. At the Šepak border crossing, traffic is prohibited for all cargo vehicles, BIHAMK announced.
