Vasilj from St. Pauli forgave with an emotional post on social networks, thanking the club where he spent the last five years.
Dear family of St. Paulija, sometimes the hardest thing is not to say goodbye when you win, but to keep your dignity when you fail. Five years ago I came as a goalkeeper, and I’m leaving as someone who left a part of himself in this club, this city and among all these people, said Vasilj.
He pointed out that St. Pauli will always be more than football for him.
There will remain people who became family, fans who sang even when there was no reason to sing. The club that taught me that Frgiving is most valuable in difficult times, he added.
Vasilj thanked his teammates, coaching staff, fans and everyone who was part of his journey in Hamburg.
“I’m leaving, but a part of me stays here forever. In the locker room, on the field and in every step I took wearing this shirt. I may not be a member of the club anymore, but I will remain a fan forever,” wrote Vasilj.
