The Chief of European Diplomacy Kaja Kallas said in the European Parliament that Israel violates international law and must face his own extremists.
Speaking of a hearing entitled “Stopping Genocide: It’s time for EU sanctions”, initiated by the Left Group, Kallas said the Israeli shares go beyond the right to self-defense.
The French MP Manon Aubry (left) accused Kallas to “accomplice” in genocide and “silent” on the Israeli blockade Gaza, “Genocide, genocide, genocide. I repeat that word because you refuse to use it.”
Kallas replied that the war began to attack Hamas on 7. October, but she admitted that “Gazi’s food blocking does not protect Israel” and that Israeli actions include disproportionate force and attacks on civilians, which is a violation of international law.
It also condemned the violence of Israeli settlers on the west coast, pointing out that the permanent relocation of the Gaza population would also be a violation of international law.
At the proposal of sanctions, Kallas replied, “To ask me, I would make those decisions. But I presented the 27 member states and that’s the frustration I’m wearing.”
Members were clashed in the discussion. The German member of the EPP Hildegard called the allegations of the genocide “Lies”, while the Spanish Social Democrat Nacho Sanchez Amor replied: “The words are important. Po and genocidal statements of Israeli ministers proud.”
