The arrested dean of the Faculty of Dentistry in Sarajevo, Muhamed Ajanović, and the chief educational inspector, Dalila Hakalović, were handed over to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office.
They were arrested yesterday by police officers of the KS MUP on the order of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office. They spent the night in custody, and now it is up to the prosecutor to decide whether to propose to the court a detention order or a restraining order.
Muhamed Ajanović is accused of having committed the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority, receiving a reward or other form of benefit for trade in influence, while Dalila Hakalović is accused of having committed the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority, which both suspects undertook as co-perpetrators.
The subject of the investigation by the KS Prosecutor’s Office refers to several actions taken by Muhamed Ajanović together with Dalila Hakalović, Adna Mesihović and Dženita Viteškić, in order to ensure himself an illegal extension of his mandate, then using his friendly ties with Mesihović, Viteškić and Hakalović.
Ajanović is accused of securing the necessary opinions and instructions from the Ministry through Hakalović, Mesihović and Viteškić, which enabled him not to announce a competition for the election of a dean and to remain in office, until the adoption of amendments to the Statute of the University of Sarajevo, which would enable him to have new mandated functions as a dean.
In this same case, the former minister of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth, KS Adna Mesihović and her assistant at the time, Dženita Viteškić, are also included in the investigation, who are charged with the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority.
They were also arrested in April this year, but were released.
The “Envelope” action is the result of cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Office of the KS, the Police Administration of the MUP-KS and the Office for the Fight against Corruption in the prosecution of corrupt crimes committed to the detriment of the KS budget by the illegal actions of individuals in the institutions of the system, writes Klix.
