The main actor of the chase was a 38-year-old citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina who ran away from the Roman Carabinieri for hours with a stolen punt.
It all started along Via Laurentina, when a patrol noticed a car – already involved in an escape attempt earlier – moving through the streets of Rome.
The police officers immediately turned on their sirens and rotating lights, and the chase took place through the Eur district and continued to Portuense Street, while the fugitive drove over 120 kilometers per hour through the streets of the capital.
The chase ended inside an apartment complex, where the man tried to hide under another car.
The police blocked him, arrested him and brought him before a judge for an urgent hearing in Piazzale Clodio: he was remanded in custody and immediately taken to prison.
The policemen involved in the operation were injured, but luckily no one is in a serious condition.
