From Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy it was reported that Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina recently adopted four spending programs in the field of social protection in the total amount of more than five million KM, with the aim of improving services and strengthening support for the most vulnerable categories of society.
Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy Adnan Delic he pointed out that these programs do not only finance individual projects, but build a longer-term and fairer system of social protection.
“Our focus is on people and the quality of services they receive, and on bringing support closer to the community, and not keeping it exclusively in institutions,” said Delić, emphasizing the importance of developing non-institutional services that allow users to stay in their environment.
The largest part of the funds, 3,000,000 KM, is aimed at strengthening the capacity of social protection institutions through the improvement of existing and development of new services, improvement of accommodation conditions for users and the work of employees. These funds will be distributed to institutions for social care and health care in Bakovići, Drin and Ljubuški, and to institutions in Pazarić and Sarajevo.
An additional 2,000,000 KM is intended for the development of non-institutional forms of care, i.e. support for organizations that provide social services in the community, with a special focus on the prevention of institutionalization of children, persons with disabilities and the elderly.
50,000 KM has been allocated for the implementation of the Strategy for Improving the Rights and Position of Persons with Disabilities in the Federation of BiH for the period 2025-2030, while 20,000 KM is intended for professional training in working with minors through the application of educational recommendations.
Minister Delić emphasized that the adoption of these programs represents the continuation of reform processes in the field of social protection, with the aim of moving to systemic solutions that will ensure accessible, continuous and high-quality services.
The Ministry announced that public calls for the allocation of funds will soon be announced, thus continuing the process of strengthening the social protection system in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
