The Ministry of Veteran Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton organized a working meeting with the representatives of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Sitting Volleyball Association, which was led by the president of the Association, Elvir Arnautović.
During the meeting, Minister Adnan Sirovica informed the attendees about the continuous support that the Ministry provides to the work of the ZDK Sitting Volleyball Federation, emphasizing that the funds in the budget item intended for sports and sports clubs have been increased from year to year.
As Minister Sirovic emphasized, this approach clearly shows the commitment of the Ministry to recognize the importance of sports in the process of rehabilitation and social inclusion of people with disabilities, and the readiness to provide concrete support to the work of associations and clubs. In this context, he pointed out that the support is additionally rounded off by the allocation of financial resources for the purchase of sports equipment in the amount of 3,000 KM per club, with the aim of improving the conditions for training and work of all clubs operating within the Association.
Representatives of the ZDK Sitting Volleyball Association presented the challenges they face in their daily work, especially when it comes to financing and organizing competitions. On that occasion, they expressed their gratitude to Minister Sirovica and the Ministry of Veteran Affairs of the ZDK for their support so far, which represents an important pillar in the preservation and development of sitting volleyball in the Canton.
In the continuation of the meeting, the representatives of the Association presented the planned activities for the coming year, with a special emphasis on the World Championship in sitting volleyball, which will be held in China. As it was pointed out, participation in this major international competition requires significant financial resources, both for the preparations of the national team and for the stay at the championship itself.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Sirovica emphasized that the Ministry of Veteran Affairs of the ZDK will continue to provide support to the Federation and clubs in the coming period, especially in the segment of financing sports teams and organizing competitions that give the best results in the rehabilitation of disabled athletes and the promotion of sports as a means of social integration.
