Minister of Health of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, dr. Aida Salčinović attended the conference “From the practice to the community – together for stronger primary health care”, which was held in Sarajevo from November 6 to 8. This three-day conference brought together more than 300 participants from the entire Federation of BiH, among whom were health professionals, managers of health centers, representatives of ministries of health, institutes, academic communities and international partners.
The conference was dedicated to the exchange of experiences, the recognition of the main challenges and the presentation of concrete proposals for the improvement of primary health care – from more efficient planning and management of the system, to the strengthening of teamwork, preventive activities and the availability of health services to citizens.
At this important expert meeting, Minister Salčinović, together with representatives of cantonal health institutions and the Health Insurance Institute of Zenica-Doboj Canton, followed the program content and participated in expert discussions during the three days of the conference. The presence of the delegation of the Ministry of Health ZDK confirms the determination of this canton to actively contribute to the development of a sustainable, functional and patient-oriented health system in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The conference was organized by the Federal Ministry of Health and the Institute for Public Health of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of international partners – the World Bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European Union and the Embassy of Switzerland in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Ministry of Health of the Zenica-Doboj Canton welcomes such initiatives that encourage the exchange of knowledge and experience among health workers and decision-makers, and expresses its readiness to continue cooperation on projects that contribute to the strengthening of primary health care and the improvement of health services for all citizens.
