The Supreme Court of Republika Srpska today confirmed the acquittal of the mayor of Teslić, Milan Miličević (SDS), and the acting head of the Spatial Planning Department of the City of Teslić, Nikola Stokić, who were previously charged with influence peddling.
The president of SDS, Branko Blanuša, spoke about the court’s decision and pointed out that such a verdict was expected.
– Not only do we know that Miličević does his job honestly, but it was clear from the very beginning that this was a process that was staged from the opposite political camp. Unfortunately, this case shows what kind of society we live in, and that the regime is ready to put all those it is unable to defeat through the crucifixion. If there was a rule of law, someone would already be held accountable for falsely reporting a criminal offense and filing an indictment without any evidence – said Blanuša.
He added that he was “sorry that Milicevic went through staged trials for the second time, that he and his family suffered agony, but we are glad because truth and justice won in the end.”
– We continue our joint struggle for a safe and democratic Republic of Srpska in which law and justice will be equal for everyone – Blanuša concluded.
The Prosecution charged Miličević and Stokić with malfeasance in connection with the issuance of a use permit for the residential and business facility of the owner and investor, Alen Seferović.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the former leader of the SDS was suspected of asking Seferović for money in order to mediate with Stokić to end the procedure for issuing a use permit.
Stokić was accused of abuse of position, it says Avaz.
