Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Bosnia and Herzegovina Rezeq Namoora paid a farewell visit to Zenica-Doboj Canton today, where he met with ZDK Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, ZDK Assembly Chairman Ćazim Huskić, Minister of Finance Dženana Čišija and Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Mirza Mušija.
During the meeting, they discussed the past cooperation, strong ties and solidarity between the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Palestine, as well as the importance of continuing institutional and friendly relations in the future. This visit was a farewell one, considering that Ambassador Namoore is soon returning to his homeland.
Ambassador Namoora expressed his deep gratitude to the institutions and citizens of the Zenica-Doboj Canton for their continuous support to the Palestinian people, especially in the current difficult circumstances.
– As they say here, this will not be goodbye, but see you next time. I hope that, God willing, we will meet again in Palestine and Jerusalem. The message of solidarity sent from Zenica to the people of Palestine, especially through the recently held Concert for the People of Palestine, has an inestimable value. The Embassy of Palestine in BiH and the Palestinian people will never forget the support and solidarity we receive from the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. All the time I felt like one of you, never like a stranger – said Ambassador Namoora, adding that he will stay in touch in the future and occasionally come to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He also expressed the hope that the good relations between the Embassy of Palestine and the Zenica-Doboj Canton will continue with the arrival of the new ambassador, stressing that, as he said, “she will be the ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Palestine, just as he was the ambassador of Palestine in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
The Prime Minister of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Nezir Pivić, said that the Canton will continue to nurture good relations with the State of Palestine and its diplomatic representatives.
– There are few nations that can better understand the suffering and struggle of the Palestinian people than ours. The fight for justice is difficult, but the only correct way. We hope for permanent peace, security in your homeland and better times in which we will visit each other in peace, emphasized Prime Minister Pivić.
Chairman of the ZDK Assembly Ćazim Huskić emphasized the strong historical and emotional connection between the two nations.
– Our link is indelible. Our people also went through what the Palestinian people are going through today. Every support was important to us then, just as it is important to you today. Thank you for everything you do for Palestine in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also for Bosnia and Herzegovina in Palestine – said Huskić.
At the end of the meeting, the Zenica-Doboj canton’s commitment to continued cooperation, solidarity and support for the Palestinian people was once again confirmed, with wishes to Ambassador Namoor for safety and success in his further diplomatic and life mission.
