German Chancellor Friedrich Merz accused Russian President Vladimir Putin to lead the “hybrid war” against Germany.
– He leads the information war against us. He is conducting a military war against Ukraine and that war focused against all of us – said Merz on Monday for German Television NTV.
Merz accused Russian president that he wanted to reverse the political order of Europe.
– And that is why we support Ukraine, “Merz explained, adding that in the interest of Germany to defend the political order of open, liberal societies in Europe.
On the specific question, whether the Putin is waging a war against Germany, Merz said, “He leads a hybrid war against us.”
In relation to the increase in the number of incidents with drones in Germany and throughout Europe, Merz said: “We are aware of the threats,” remarked that Putin wants to intimidate and instill fear.
– We will not be intimidated and we will also defend yourself efficiently from this threat – Merz claimed.
