Today, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency are conducting an operational operation “NID” in the area of Sarajevo, East Sarajevo and Zavidovići.
The “NID” operational action is aimed at searches of residential buildings and movable property owned or used by suspected persons, at three locations, as well as the temporary confiscation of items that can be used as evidence in the execution of the criminal offenses “Organized crime”, “International human trafficking” and “Money laundering” prescribed by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the criminal offense “Human Trafficking” prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the criminal offense “Human Trafficking” prescribed by the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska, SIPA announced.
Searches are carried out by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the police officers of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska, the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton and Zenica-Doboj Canton.
“During the work on the case with the aim of gathering information and evidence, cooperation was achieved with the police authorities of the Republic of Serbia, the Service for Combating Organized Crime (SBPOK). Support in the work was provided by the Law Enforcement Center of South-Eastern Europe – ‘SELEC’. In order to gather information in the previous period, intensive cooperation was also achieved with the non-governmental organization ‘Vaša Prava BiH’. The aforementioned activities were carried out with the support of the EU project to strengthen the fight against migrant smuggling and human trafficking in the Western Balkans (EU4FAST)”, the announcement states.
