Brazilian Lucas Pinheiro Braathen won the gold medal in giant slalom at the Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo and Milan.
History was written with this triumph because it is the first medal for South America at the Winter Olympics.
Braathen took gold with a total time of 2:25.00, while runner-up Marco Odermatt was 0.58 seconds behind.
The bronze medal went to Loic Meillard, 1.17 seconds behind, while his compatriot Thomas Tumler finished fourth, 1.45 seconds behind the winner.
Fifth place was taken by Atle Lie McGrath, followed by Leo Anguenot, Henrik Kristoffersen and Stefan Brennsteiner.
His compatriot Marco Schwarz was ninth, while the tenth position was occupied by Joan Verdu.
Slovenian Zan Kranjec finished the race in 12th place, while Croatian representative Filip Zubcic was 14th.
