In order to inform the public regarding information on the determined elevated lead concentrations in blood samples of a certain number of residents of the Pržići Local Community and the Daštansko Local Community, Vareš Municipality, the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton informs the public that on 11.12.2025. year by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, received an act informing this administrative body in connection with the above.
In this regard, the competent cantonal sanitary inspector of the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs made contact with the competent municipal inspection in Vares, which acts in accordance with the recommendations of the Zenica Institute for Health and Food Safety. According to the data available so far, tests of water samples were carried out, where the presence of lead was not determined in the samples taken, which was confirmed by the Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica, Service for Epidemiology and Hygiene, by act of 08.12.2025. year, which gave recommendations for further research into possible causes of increased lead concentration in the blood.
In addition to the above, we emphasize that the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs through competent inspections in the previous period in the area of the Municipality of Vareš continuously carried out inspections within the framework of its legal competences in several areas and within the framework of its legal powers will continue cooperation with the competent institutions, primarily with the Municipality of Vareš and the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs and will inform the public in a timely manner about all relevant facts, all with the aim of timely monitoring of the situation in the area of the Municipality of Vareš.
