After two seasons, former assistant coach Krunoslav Rimac left HKK Široki.
Although there was a desire to continue the cooperation, Rimac received an offer to be the first coach in his Slavonski Brod and will thus continue his career in Croatia.
We would like to thank our coach for everything, especially for the excellent professional relationship during his stay in our sports family. We believe that this is not goodbye, but only goodbye, it is stated in the announcement of the club.
Through the official club website, Rimac addressed all fans and residents of Široki Brijeg.
After two successful and fulfilling seasons spent in HKK Široka, the time has come to end an important and beautiful chapter of my sports career. On this occasion, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the president Anti Suton, all the members of the Board of Directors, the club’s employees and everyone who in any way was a part of my stay in Široki Brijeg.
From the first day I felt it great trust, respect and supportand the cooperation with the club was at the highest professional and human level. I send special thanks Ivan Velićat whose invitation I came to Široki. I thank him for the trust he showed me, the opportunity he gave me and the support he gave me during the entire period I spent at the club. Many thanks to all to the players with whom I worked during the past two seasons. Joint work, sacrifice, numerous challenges and successes created memories that I will carry with me forever. I would especially like to highlight my friend and colleague, Marijan Bagarićwith whom I shared daily work and responsibility on the bench for almost a season and a half. Together, we achieved a result that will remain permanently inscribed in the club’s history – winning the ABA 2 League and placing in the ABA League, said Rimac after leaving Pecare.
He added that he was proud to have had the opportunity to be a part of that great success.
I also owe thanks to the City of Široki Brijeg and all its residents who followed us, supported us and lived with the club.
From I leave Široki richer for numerous friendships, unforgettable experiences and memories that will forever have a special place in my life. Although my professional and basketball path leads me to new challenges, HKK Široki will always remain for me special club. I leave with a feeling of pride and gratitude that I had the opportunity to be part of this sports family. Once again, I sincerely thank everyone for the trust, support and friendship shown over the past two years. I wish Široka much success, sports results and new great moments in the years to come, it says in the post.
