The decision to declare the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran a terrorist organization was discussed at today’s session of the Government of Kosovo.
Presenting the proposed decision before the Government, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that the proposal provides a legal and strategic basis for declaring it a terrorist organization in the Republic of Kosovo.
Iran has never recognized Kosovo
“The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran is defined as an entity that uses terrorism and organized violence as a means of foreign policy and contributes to regional and global instability. With this decision, Kosovo strengthens its position in the protection of international security, democratic values and human rights,” Kurti said.
He emphasized that with this decision, his country clearly shows its commitment to stand by its strategic allies in the joint fight against terrorism.
The proposal was unanimously adopted by the members of the Government of the youngest European country.
Iran still does not recognize the state of Kosovo, whose independence was declared in 2008.
