Four rounds before the end of the WWin League BiH season, FK Borac Banja Luka mathematically won the new title of champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina and will represent the country in the preliminaries of the Champions League.
The fighter starts his European journey in the first preliminary round of the Champions League, where he will have the status of holder thanks to the coefficient of 13.125. According to current projections, the Banja Luka could be seeded in the second preliminary round if they pass the first hurdle.
It is also known several possible opponents in the first preliminary round, among which is the most famous name PFC Levski Sofiathe new champion of Bulgaria who broke the dominance of Ludogorets after more than ten years. Levski does not have the status of holder due to a lower coefficient, but in Borac they want to avoid it due to the quality of the team and the atmosphere in Sofia.
Among the potential rivals are i Sabah FC from Azerbaijan, FC ML Vitebsk, FC Kauno Žalgiris, FC Iberia 1999 and SP Tre Fiori.
The fighter also follows the unfolding of the championships in Hungary and Romania. If ETO FC Győr wins the title in Hungary, they could be the opponent of Borc as they would not have the seed status, while Ferencvárosi TC as champions would be among the seeds.
The situation is similar in Romania, where FC Universitatea Cluj and CS Universitatea Craiova are fighting for the title. In the case of Cluj’s title, they could also be potential opponents of Borc.
The draw for the first preliminary round of the Champions League will take place June 16while the draw for the second preliminary round is a day later. The first matches will be played on July 7 and 8, and the return matches on July 14 and 15.
