Kallas: The absence of military equipment at the parade shows the state of the Russian war

“For the first time in many years, Moscow’s Victory Parade will be held without heavy military weapons. It says a lot about how the war is going for Russia,” Kallas said. She added that “the grim math from the battlefield shows that Russia is losing a record number of soldiers” and that it is failing to achieve its military goals, which is becoming increasingly apparent.

The Russian Ministry of Defense previously announced that the May 9 parade in Moscow would be without military equipment due to the “current situation.” Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitz is also scheduled to participate in the Victory Day commemoration, which celebrates the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in 1945.

However, the Baltic states – Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia – refused to allow his plane to fly over their airspace, which made his planned arrival difficult. Last year, Fico and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić were the only European leaders who attended the celebration in Moscow as guests of Vladimir Putin.
