Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s testimony in his corruption trial, scheduled for Monday, was canceled after the court received an update from his lawyer, Israeli media reported.
The hearing will not be held “following an overnight update from lawyer Amit Hadad,” i24 News reported, citing a court statement. Additional details were not immediately released.
Netanyahu last appeared in court in Tel Aviv on April 28, his first court appearance since the start of the US-Israeli war with Iran on February 28.
Charges of bribery, fraud and abuse of position were brought against him in three cases dating back to indictments filed in 2019.
The court proceedings have faced numerous delays, including interruptions related to Israel’s war in Gaza since October 2023, as well as conflicts with Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iran.
Critics accuse Netanyahu of prolonging regional conflicts to delay legal processes.
