Members of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Una-Sana Canton, continue intensive activities to detect the perpetrators of several criminal offenses in the field of organized crime, as well as to identify organizers and other persons involved in smuggling rings operating in the Western Balkans.
The criminal acts in question are organized crime, kidnapping, extortion, illegal possession of weapons or explosive substances, and smuggling of persons, prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
These activities were realized today within the framework of the joint operational action codenamed “Stabanža”, in which, apart from the Border Police of BiH and the MUP of the Una-Sana Canton, other competent institutions and agencies participated. The operational action was carried out in the territory of the municipality of Velika Kladuša, in the localities of Gradina, Grljevac, Zborište (Crkvina) and Stabandža (Kekići).
As it was announced, members of the BiH Border Police have been conducting continuous activities in the area of the border zone of the municipality of Velika Kladuša for the past month with the aim of locating and identifying members of organized criminal groups.
During the implementation of the operational action, specialized equipment was used for monitoring and searching the terrain, including binoculars, thermal cameras, drones, as well as equipment for controlling vehicles and people. Around 90 police officers of the BiH Border Police and the MUP of the Una-Sana Canton took part in the action.
The BiH Border Police point out that it is about continuous preventive and repressive activities that are carried out with the aim of breaking up organized criminal groups and strengthening security on the territory of the state.
