The sixth edition of the “Viktor Vito Ćorić” memorial tennis tournament in Široki Brijeg was marked by quality matches, tennis players socializing and the arrival of Ivan Dodig and Tomislav Brkić.
In the organization Tennis club Široki Brijeg was held on Saturday VI. memorial tennis tournament “Viktor Vito Ćorić”which was also part of the event program this year Brieska bells.
The tournament is held in memory of a prominent sports worker and tennis coach from Širokibrije Viktor Vito Ćorićwho with his work and dedication left a deep mark in the development of tennis in Herzegovina.
Dodig and Brkić cheered up the youngest tennis players
Famous tennis players made a special contribution to this year’s Memorial Ivan Dodig and Tomislav Brkićwho took part in the exhibition match of mixed pairs.
Dodig performed with a young tennis hope from Širokobrije Josip Misirwhile Brkić played with the coach TK Široki Brijeg Marom Musa.
Their performance further enriched this sporting event, and after the match they mingled with the students of the tennis school and the youngest members of the club. For young tennis players, meeting top athletes was a special experience and a valuable incentive to continue working.
The tournament brought together numerous tennis players and sports fans
During the all-day program on three tennis courts in Široki Brijeg numerous tennis players, sports workers and tennis fans gathered.
Through competition and socializing, they paid tribute to Vita Ćorić and once again emphasized the importance of the sports values that he promoted throughout his life.
The competition took place in three categories, and spectators could watch a series of high-quality and uncertain matches.
Winners by category
In the category up to 50 years they won the title of winner Zlatko Naletilić and Filip Zovkowho in an exciting final overcame Jerko Sentić and Ivica Mandić as a result 6:3, 3:6 and 11:9.
In the category 50+ they were the best Marko Škegro and Robert Biletićby winning against Fran Českić and Jakov Čavar as a result 6:3 and 7:6.
In the category TOP 6 they celebrated Ante Chamber and Mario Brkicwho won after a reversal Marko Gugić and Ivan Colak as a result 4:6, 7:6 and 10:4.
