Iran’s state broadcasting agency IRIB claimed in a post on the US-based company X’s social network platform that there are two documents that prove the UAE’s entry into the war against Iran.
The destruction of a Chinese WingLoong-2 drone on April 1, said to be “only in the possession of Saudi Arabia and the UAE,” and the interception of an Emirati Mirage 2000 fighter jet over Iran’s Jask Island on March 22 were said to be evidence of UAE involvement in the war.
The Anatolia Agency could not independently confirm these claims.
There was no immediate reaction from the UAE to the report.
Regional tensions have escalated since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive against Iran on February 28, which has so far killed more than 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran retaliated with drone and missile attacks on Israel, as well as on Jordan, Iraq and the Persian Gulf countries where US military assets are located.
