Iranian President Masud Pezeškian said Tehran refused direct negotiations with the United States, in response to the President Donald Trump in relation to the Iranian nuclear program.
Peseskian statement represents the first official reaction to Tramp’s letter.
Also, it may mean that tensions could further grow between Tehran and Washington.
“Although the possibility of direct negotiations between the two sides is now rejected, it was emphasized that the path to indirect negotiations remains open,” Pazeski added.
It is unclear, however, whether Trump would accept indirect negotiations.
