In the period January – December 2024. Tourists generated 1,935,745 visits in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is 10.3 percent more than in the same period 2023. years. Domestic tourists generated 0.5 percent of visits more than in the same period 2023. years, while foreign tourists generated 14.8 percent higher than the same period last year.
In the period January – December 2024. tourists generated 4,002,561 overnight stays, which is 8.5 percent more than in the same period 2023. years. Domestic tourists generated 1.1 percent of visits more than in the same period 2023. year, while the number of foreign tourist overnight stays was higher by 11.9 percent compared to the same period last year. In the total number of overnight stays, the participation of domestic tourists was 29.5 percent as foreign tourists participation amounted to 70.5 percent.
Where do we most often come from foreign tourists
In the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists, tourists from: Croatia (13.9 percent), Serbia (11.6 percent), Turkey (9.8 percent), Saudi Arabia (7.6 percent), Slovenia (6.0 per cent), Germany (4.3 percent), USA and China with (3.4 percent), Italy (2.9 percent), Poland (2.6 percent), and Austria and Montenegro with a half (2.5 percent) overnight stays, representing 70.5 percent of the total number of nights. Tourists from other countries have achieved 29.5 percent overnight stays, data are BiH statistical agencies.
According to the type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays was achieved within the hotel and similar accommodation with a share of 94.2 percent.
