On Thursday evening, an interactive lecture dedicated to women’s health and the importance of regular preventive examinations was held in the Techlab of the Firehouse in Tešnje.
The lecture was given by Dr. Selvedina Sarajlić- Spahić, head of the Department for Health Promotion and Quality in Healthcare at INZ.
The focus of the lecture was on the Preventive Program of early detection of breast changes in the area of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, with special reference to Tešanj.
It was pointed out that all women between the ages of 50 and 69 from this area have the opportunity to undergo a free preventive mammography at the Tešanj General Hospital, after receiving an invitation letter to their home address.
The importance of regular preventive examinations and early detection of breast cancer, when treatment options are most successful, is particularly emphasized.
Along with Dr. Sarajlić-Spahić, radiology engineer Sabahudin Hadžan, who participates in the screening program and performs daily mammography examinations at Tešanj General Hospital, also addressed the audience.
In a simple and comprehensible way, he explained to those present what the procedure itself looks like, emphasizing that mammography is a fast, safe and minimally unpleasant method that takes only a few minutes.
The women had the opportunity to ask questions, clarify any doubts, but also share their own experiences, which additionally created an atmosphere of support and encouragement for those who have not yet had an examination.
The event took place in an open and interactive atmosphere, with the active participation of those present.
The representatives of the Women’s Association “Ruka” Kalošević addressed those present, including the president of the association, who offered words of welcome and encouragement, emphasizing the importance of unity and mutual support of women.
The event was organized in cooperation with the Institute for Health and Food Safety in Zenica, the Tešanj Municipality and the Women’s Association “Ruka” Kalošević, with the patronage of the Tešanj Municipality.
We would like to remind you that in the area of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Preventive Program for the Early Detection of Changes in the Breasts is implemented, which enables all women aged 50 to 69 years to undergo a free mammography examination via an invitation letter sent to their home address, according to INZ.
