The Assembly of Zenica-Doboj Canton in 2025 achieved significant results in its work, with a high degree of implementation of the Work Program and expressed harmony in cooperation with the Government of ZDK, it was highlighted at the end of this working year.
In the course of 2025, a total of 12 sessions of the Assembly of Zenica-Doboj Canton were held, of which 10 were regular, one thematic session dedicated to the state of environmental and nature protection in the Canton, and one ceremonial session on the occasion of marking August 29 – Zenica-Doboj Canton Day.
The work program of the ZDK Assembly for the year 2025 planned consideration of 62 acts, of which 35 planned acts were considered during the year, which constitutes 56.45 percent of the realization of the planned part of the Program. In addition, the Assembly considered 45 additional acts that were not foreseen in the Work Program, which brought the total number of considered acts to 80, that is, 129.03 percent of the realization of the Work Program compared to the planned.
Chairman of the ZDK Assembly Ćazim Huskić pointed out that these indicators confirm the stable and efficient work of the Assembly.
– What marked the work of the Assembly this year was serious harmony in the work of the legislative and executive authorities, which is clearly reflected in the results in all departments of the Canton. The Assembly followed the work of the Government, and such a relationship contributed to the improvement of the overall situation in the Zenica-Doboj Canton for the benefit of all citizens – said Huskić.
The chairman emphasized that, despite the achieved results, there is room for improvement, especially in the area of legislative activities.
– I am not completely satisfied because this year we failed to complete two important laws – the Law on Weapons and Ammunition, which is of particular interest to the citizens of the Canton, and the Law on property verification and the method of property verification of public office holders. I expect that these laws will be on the agenda of the Assembly already in January or February next year – said Huskić.
During 2025, the ZDK Assembly passed a series of important laws, decisions and conclusions, among which are laws in the fields of nature protection, education, sports, work, police rights, finance and budget, as well as decisions of special importance for the institutional and social development of the Canton.
In the end, Chairman Huskić sent a congratulatory message to the citizens of the Zenica-Doboj Canton on the occasion of the coming year 2026, with wishes for good health, stability and further prosperity of the Canton and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
