Today, Duman is proud to carry both the Bosnian and Turkish flag, and from the heart of the potent sends a message to young people around the world.
Still as a boy, Şamil knew that one day he would come to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Looking at the documentary about the country he says he “called him like fate,” a desire that never stopped smoldering in it.
For years later, in his twenties, the accidental advertisement for the University of Bosnia and Herzegovina was a turning point.
“I thought – that’s my way. I signed up, and when they received me, I knew my life changed forever,” she recalled.

Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomed him in his charming edition, silence, nature, serenity. Everything that in the hectic way of life in Turkey often lacked. What really enchanted him was history.
“I am fascinated by the Ottoman Heritage. The acts that the Ottomans left in BiH in my opinion is deeply respect and inspiration,” Duman says.
From broken hands to Turkish gold
Kickbox entered his life when he was 13 years old. At first as a hobby, but for three years later, a serious milestone has happened. At his first competition, he experienced a heavy blow, broken arm, surgery, metal plate. The doctors advised him to give up.
“That’s exactly where I became serious. I trained one year only with one hand. I didn’t lose hope,” the story continued.
The road to the professional Career Kick Boxer
In January 2018. years, as Duman says, everything has changed. Şamil stood on the Turkish Tatami and won. All in order. He became a champion, and then a member of the national team. In April, the same year won the international championship and thus stepped towards professional careers.

Sarajevo, Balkans and the encounter that changes everything
Year 2022. will remember the Balkan Cup held in Sarajevo. Although he participated independently, he was not alone, the support of friends and professors was huge. And once again – a champion.
But the most important thing happened after the match. Elvedin Dubravac approached him, a legendary coach from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He recognized talent, work, perseverance, and offered to train him.
“Ten days later he invited me to dinner. That conversation changed my life. I started training in his hall, which is a great honor for me.”
Dubravac became more than a coach, as Duman states, the coach is supported by his support, mentor, but also another father. He covered the costs, led him to international competitions, scored him as the nearest family member.
In such an environment, Duman continued to serve medals:

2x Champion of the European Club Cup
1x champion of the Balkan Cup
Heart between two homelands
Today, Duman is proud to present the KBS Titanium Club from the Dough – one of the strongest sports collectives in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He says that there is honest love and mutual respect between Bosnians and Turkish, and that feels every day.
“I’m wearing a flag from another country, and people are proud of me. It gives me strength. I feel belonging to both the country,” Duman points out.
Trainings in BiH and Turkey differ, says, but it draws an additional advantage. He uses the best techniques and moves of the trainer from Turkey and BiH, and thus builds his authentic technique.
Message to young people: Nothing comes overnight
Şamil doesn’t forget how it all started. Not even what the most difficult moment looked, when his hand was broken, and the future is uncertain. Today, when he looks backwards, he knows that he was a turning point.
“If I gave up then, I would never become what I am. Message to young, be patient. The results come only if you are dedicated,” he concluded.
Duman states that his goal is to become a world champion and fight in the most important professional kickboxes organizations.
