A total of 1.6 million Muslims from all over the world participated in this year’s pilgrimage to the Saudi city of Mec.
The event was successful and went without major incidents, said Prince Saud Bin Mishaal, the Vice President of the Standing Committee for Hajj and Die, adding that it passed without health or incidents related to the service.
However, according to the reports of the Iranian state news agency Irna, 13 Iranian pilgrims died at temperatures achieved by 45 degrees Celsius.
Last year, more than 1,300 people died at temperatures that reached up to 50 degrees.
This year, Saudi authorities have taken measures to avoid repetition of disaster, consulting measures against pilgrims without official licenses, which in the past got less care.
The Hagj, which is moving around the lunar calendar, will take place in colder months in the coming years, the Saudi Meteorological Service said.
It will take 25 years before it is held again in the warmest summer months.
