He added that the ceasefire must be preserved and that all violations must stop.
“All parties to the conflict must respect freedom of navigation, including the Strait of Hormuz, in accordance with international law,” he said.
His announcement comes hours after US President Donald Trump confirmed that the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has come into effect.
At the same time, the continuation of negotiations is still uncertain.
According to available information, US officials are conducting internal discussions about the possible organization of a new meeting with Iranian representatives if the opportunity arises.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkiyan told French President Emmanuel Macron that “unreasonable demands” from the US prevented an agreement from being reached at the weekend talks.
“We have clearly stated the conditions for a ceasefire and we remain committed to them. The excessive demands of the US have prevented an agreement… Iran will continue negotiations exclusively within the framework of international law,” Pezeshkiyan said, according to Iranian state media.
