The final of this year’s World Handball Championship in Rotterdam will be played by Germany and Norway.
In the first semi-final, Germany defeated the defending champions – France – with a score of 29:23 (15:12). The most effective in the winning team was Antje Doell with nine goals, while Viola Leuchter and Emily Vogel added five each. Sarah Bouktit and Lena Grandveau each scored five goals for France.
In the second semi-final, Norway beat the host Netherlands 35:25 (18:14). Henny Ella Reistad led the Norwegian women with ten goals, while Dione Housheer and Estavana Polman scored six each for the Netherlands.
For Germany, this is the second place in the World Cup final in history. She won the title for the first time in 1993. Norway, the current Olympic champion and world runner-up, is in the final for the third time in a row, after winning a fourth gold in 2021.
France won the title three times (2003, 2017, 2023) and played in three of the previous four finals, while the Netherlands were champions for the only time in 2019.
The final match is scheduled for Sunday at 5:30 p.m., while France and the Netherlands will play for third place three hours earlier.
