German Chancellor Friedrich Merz commented on the latest military developments in the Middle East, including Iranian and American attacks on Iranian nuclear plants, saying that “none of that was without risk, but neither the retention quo was out of the question.”
In publication on the social network X, Merz pointed out that he supports the moves taken by the Unions of Germany.
– There is no reason to criticize what Israel began in Iran a week ago, nor is there a reason to criticize what America did last weekend. Not without risk. However, neither the leaving things like they were optional – written by Merz.

German Chancellor was also referred to the diplomatic dimension of the crisis earlier during the day, inviting Tehran to return to the negotiating table.
– Iran must immediately start negotiations with the US and Israel and find a diplomatic solution to the conflict – he said.
Germany, which has long insisted on multilateral approach and preserving stability in the region, further confirmed that it stands with Israel and the United States, but also to remain open to resolve conflict through dialogue.
