The German union employed in service activities Verdi called on a one-day strike on Monday in all important German airports, including the key airlocks such as Frankfurt and Munich.

The strike should start on Sunday at midnight and last 24 hours, and it wants to strengthen the pressure on the employer in the current negotiations on collective agreements that are taken from the beginning of the year.
Most staff are still employed through collective agreements concluded with cities and municipalities that perform in negotiations with unions as employers and are partly the co-owners of airports.
The last few weeks have already been striked, but also other sectors that fall under public services such as urban transport, kindergarten or waste disposal. “We are forced to take this step because the employer has not exhibited an acceptable offer for employees in public services,” Verdi’s union said.
The largest union in Germany for employees in public services seeks increasing salary from eight percent or at least 350 euros. The largest German air carrier Lufthansa and the Association of German Airports advito criticized the strike.
