The basketball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to count on the help of NBA center Luka Garza in the upcoming qualifying matches for the World Cup.
Garza was on the list of coach Dario Gjergja for the June qualification window, in which the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will compete against Turkey and Serbia.
The Boston Celtics basketball player confirmed in an interview with “Darko Basketball” that he will make himself available to the national team and emphasized how much playing for the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina means to him.
“I said that I will be there 100 percent. I think that the selector is also excited about that and that he wants me in the national team,” said Garza.
He also spoke about the first meeting with the new selector Dario Gjergja, pointing out that the conversation took place in a very positive atmosphere.
“We met and then we talked for the first time since he became a coach. He’s great. He wanted to know what my mentality is like. I told him that I want to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina whenever the opportunity arises. I’m excited about the future,” said Garza.
In addition to basketball, he also touched on the great success of the football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which qualified for the World Cup.
“It was nice to see them beat Italy. Our head chef here is Italian, so I was able to enjoy myself a little bit. That was pretty cool,” Garza said with a smile.
