The Buna River overflowed its banks near the “Kolo” restaurant and onto the Blagaj-Buna road. The Bunica river overflowed in Mali Polje, where several buildings were flooded. Communal services and members of civil protection are on the ground and are working on remediation of the consequences of flooding, as well as landslides on Cima, it is stated in today’s report of the Federal Administration of Civil Protection (FUCZ) on the state of natural and other disasters in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina until 10 o’clock.
The Trebižat River overflowed its banks and flooded all the fields in its basin. In the inhabited town of Struge, houses and farm buildings are threatened, groundwater has flooded many basements. The Neretva, Krupa and Bregava rivers did not overflow their banks, near their basins there are many submerged basements from underground water as well as from the catchment.
According to oral information from PVP Konjic, the situation in the area of the town of Konjic has stabilized. During the night, the rain turned to snow, the temperatures fell into the minus, and the water level of the Drina River began to drop, which at 7 o’clock this morning was 209 cm. The Drina river overflowed from its bed in the local communities of Osanica, Sadba, Zupčići and Goražde II. It mainly flooded the coast, agricultural lands, picnic areas, promenades and weekend facilities. According to information from Goražda, there should be a regular supply of water during the day.
The river Osanica washed away a pedestrian bridge in Dolovi. In Bogušići, there is a danger of a landslide, which formed not far from a family house. Certain problems are caused by the tributaries of the Kolina River, which, due to the sudden melting of snow and heavy rainfall, have caused blockages and damage to canals and culverts.
The pipe culvert towards the villages of Zabor and Dragovići is completely blocked and the pipe had to be removed, so access to these villages is limited and is not possible with motor vehicles.
As for the Osanica River, the situation has not changed and there remains a long-term problem of repairing the bridge towards the villages of Mihovići and Krč, which is completely damaged and unusable. It is necessary to route and temporarily adapt the alternative road from the village of Laščići to these places, so that in case of certain problems, especially the provision of health services to these citizens, it would be possible to act.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Foča (FBiH) accepted the proposal of the Civil Protection Staff and made a decision to declare a state of natural and other calamity.
