Four ambulances owned by a Jewish community organization in north London were torched overnight in what police are treating as an anti-Semitic hate crime.
– An investigation has been launched after four Jewish Community emergency vehicles were set on fire in Golders Green – London’s Metropolitan Police said, Reuters writes.
They added that police officers remain at the scene and that no one was injured in the incident.
The ambulances belonged to Hatzola, a non-profit volunteer service that responds to medical emergencies. The London Fire Brigade sent six vehicles and 40 firefighters to the scene.
– Several cylinders on the vehicles exploded and caused the windows of the neighboring building to break, but there were no injuries – the firemen stated, adding that the fire was brought under control during the night.

British Health Minister Wes Streeting called the attack “disgusting” and said it was necessary to oppose “anti-Semitic hatred”.
Mark Gardner, director of the Community Security Trust, which advises around 290,000 Jews in Britain on security issues, said there was an obvious parallel with similar recent attacks in Liège, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
Since the beginning of the conflict in Gaza following the Hamas attack in October 2023, there has been a significant increase in anti-Semitic incidents in Britain. The worst attack last year was in Manchester, when two Jewish worshipers were killed during Yom Kippur.
