The Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina EDIN Forto said in the regions of Sarajevo, Mostar and Banja Luka from 1. July, the DVB-T2 Digital Signal Standard, and in other urban regions such as Tuzla and Zenica.
– After that, we will successively play the signal of the latest standard by December when the project will be completed – said Forto after the Coordination Meeting with the Directors of Public RTV services and links Zagreb regarding further activities on the implementation of the Digitization of the Television Signal in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Forto said that they have extended the deadline for six months and that the Ministry accepted the arguments he gave the Contractor.
– essentially due to the fact that, after the project was awarded, shortly after the allocation of the contract, the American sanctions carried the holders of the consortium. We had to carry out some legal actions that have their key time, when it was convenient to install equipment and entered the winter that slowered the works.
He added that one of the challenges also applied for three key locations in the possession of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and have not resolved access to these locations until today, although it is a public interest.
Two locations are in Republika Srpska and is one in the Federation of BiH. Forto said that it hopes that in the nearby period, it would be resolved in the Ministry of Defense in BiH and that it would provide access to the equipment to bring that project to the end.

Speaking of the advantages of the digital signal of the new generation for citizens and public broadcasters, Forto, not only to save energy, but also to have additional services such as subtitles, especially for persons who need it and because of persons with special needs.
