Pembroke Pines police said fire and rescue crews were deployed along the perimeter of the Holly Lake community near US Highway 27 and Pines Boulevard as the wildfire continued to spread to nearby areas, Anadolia reports.

Authorities reported that the fire had burned about 4,800 hectares and remained completely out of control by Sunday afternoon.

Police also urged drivers to avoid the area after people pulling over on nearby roads to watch the wildfire caused traffic delays near U.S. Highway 27 and Pines Boulevard. Police officers warned that vehicles trying to stop will be directed to move.

Authorities said agencies including the Florida Forest Service, Pembroke Pines police, Broward County Sheriff’s Office and Miami-Dade teams are working together to prevent the fire from threatening nearby communities. There are no injuries so far.
