Putin met with Donald Tramp on Friday at Alaska on the first Russian-American summit after more than four years. The meeting lasted for almost three hours, and the main topic was a possible agreement on peace in Ukraine. After talking to Putin, he said he hopes that this is a big step towards the agreement, but the details were not revealed.
According to information, the Kremlin sees several key conditions: Ukraine must surrender the entire Donbas, give up NATO, remain neutral and not allow the presence of Western soldiers.
Russian sources claim that Putin is ready for certain compromises in relation to the requirements of June 2024, when he sought submission Donetsk, Luganska, Herson and Zaporiž. According to the same sources, he is ready to freeze the battlefield in Herson and the Harson, and Kiev returns smaller parts of Harkivska, a forest and the Dnipropetrov region that the Russian army holds under control.
Ukraine previously rejected these suggestions by calling them with a clean surrender.
Nevertheless, Putin still insists that Kiev completely leave Donbas and permanently renounced NATO, with the restrictions on the army and agreement that would prohibit the deployment of Western forces on the Ukrainian territory.
